Terry grew up on a ranch between Sturgis and Rapid City, SD. A mission trip with Parkview (his home church) to Macau, China, propelled him into ministry. He attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, earning his B.A. in TESoL and International Ministries in 2001, and his M.A. in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship in 2003. In 2004 he married his “missing rib,” Eva, and they now have four children, Noah, Evie, Samuel and Ezra. After serving in student ministry for five years in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the Biers family returned to their home church, Parkview, in 2012. Terry’s driving passion in youth ministry has been to see Christ overflow from the lives of students and families as they discover that true forgiveness, life, satisfaction and lasting joy are found in Jesus Christ alone. Terry and his family are preparing to serve as missionaries in Taiwan with the Chinese Bible Mission beginning mid-January of 2026. You can find more information about their journey to Taiwan here.
